fungi
On wednesday i was supposed to go take photos at mosquito land for darkroom process. I woke up at like 5.30 so that by the time i reach there, it would be sunrise. But lo and behold, my stupid camera couldnt function... and i couldnt shoot. So after getting it fixed up at the shop that day(the lady at the shop said sometimes the battery compartment oxidises a bit so must scratch it once in a while) i got up the next morning, also at 5.30.
When i got there, my 1st roll screwed up i dunno why, so i threw it out and put in a new one. At first there was no direct sunlight so i went round the drain to get some pics and when the sun finally came up, i was running here and there like a lunatic to try to get photos of nicely lit places before the time passed and the dramatic lighting faded. My socks were completely soggy by then(the grass was really wet, and tall at some places) and my pants damp. I tried catchin spiders for a while since i havent done that in a long time... managed to get to big wolf spiders and one giant crab spider. Its not actually giagantic... its just its name.
Took a few more 'morning light' pictures then proceeded to go deep into the forested area. When i was in there i heard this thumping noise that sounded like it came from this brick structure a few metres ahead and i ran out scared. But as i passed it on the outside, i realised it was the sound of construction work in the distance. Went back in and did what i could with my ancient camera.
The flies, midges and mosquitoes were swarming around me like bees to honey. The moment i stopped to focus and take a shot, they would settle on me and rob me of my blood. I was getting really itchy and annoyed. The worst part was when my film ran out and i had to change it... they were simply merciless. So i had to walk back and forth in a smace of 1 metre like a retard. In the end i gave up and exited before i could finish my 4th roll.
On the way out, something kinda startled me... only for a split second tho. A black spitting cobra at least 1 metre long... sunbathing i think. As it slithered away(luckily it didnt try to attack me), i fumbled to free my phone from my pocket and snap a photo before it disappeared into the bushes. This was wat i got.

Anyways, i went to go fetch sy and dilys at the bus stop cause the latter needed to take photos of the grafitti in the tunnel. And guess wat, we saw another black spitting cobra... this time a baby. And it was obviously offended cause it had its hood flared. And contrary to sane bahaviour, i got down in front of it to take a good picture. At the height of my confidence i reached like within 15 inches of the serpent. I also took a video of it while agitating it with my bag. If it had spat in my eyes, i would have experienced temporary blindness and if it bit me, my nervous system would slowly shut down and i would probably be dead in 3-4 hours. To tell you the truth, i wasnt that frightened or nervous. Seriously, singing on stage is way scarier(tell you bout that in the next post) I was so hyped! Ok, here it is.
can you see its little tongue?
By the time i left, i was completely shagged, my feet were gray deformed prunes, i was itching all over and i had several small cuts and bruises on my arms and one on each ankle. Ouh and the back of my knee and now my right thigh are aching cause of all the big strides i had to take in the forrested area. Sitting down and standing up is a rather uncomfortable affair.
