Well, nothing much has happened since last entry except that i got my hair cut...not bad lah. Ouh n the barber thought that i was Peranakan.
Ok, no on Saturday and Sunday i went for this seminar called 'Youth, Progress and Religion' at the Muslim converts. Actually, my father only found out last minute (as usual) that it was only for 17 yrs n above. But since his friend worked there i got in. Well, it was a lot more interesting than i thought it would be. I mean i expected a whole lot of boring religious stuff but it turned out pretty cool. I mean it was like religion in the contemporary sense... much more applicable to youths nowadays. The talks were very insightful and interesting although some parts were very chim. Some talked about things like subcultures and others like critical thinking.
Ok... a big part is the people of course. First order of observation, there were many more girls than guys who attended. Second is that like almost all of them were educated. I mean the guys were in jc...not poly, although 1 was in Laselle(i like his name-Rayyan). So it was like a very sophisticated question and answer session with words like 'dicotamy('is that even how its spelled?), 'paradigm' and a whole lot of 'perse's. For me it was a very mind scrambling experience. Well there was this one typical indian guy(even the smell) from india who loves spouting analogies of nature in his thich indian accent. Things like "You can bring the horse to the water but you cant force him to drink it" kinda crap.
Then we had a discussion part wher we were broken up into groups and we had to discuss on a certain topic. My group was Youth-Family problems...luckily i hav good experience in that area so i managed not to disgrace myself with stupidity...unlike Tak Lung. Well, tha next day we had to present our causes of the problem, solutions and action plans. The other groups presented 'Subcultures', 'Pre-marital Sex' and ' Suicide'. I managed to question the last 1 seeing that i had been in the early stages before.
Ouh i forgot to mention that Erwyn is migrating to Australia soon...
